The Problem

A local loss assessor contacted us after a rental property suffered fire damage to the first floor. The fire was caused by a faulty tumble dryer, and unfortunately created extensive damage to the upstairs rear bedroom, the bathroom next to it, the landing, and in the roof space.

The Solution

After we won the tender, we made substantial renovations. We started by stripping, re-felting and re-slating the roof, then moved on to repairing the first floor ceiling joists.

The first floor ceiling was completely destroyed. We replaced the windows and front door for uPVC material which is customizable and the best in terms of durability and safety.

Both the upstairs and downstairs were fully redecorated with an elegant laminate flooring to the hallway entrance.

As is often the case, the letting agents managing the property didn’t have the time or expertise to deal with the insurance claim – let alone coordinate a team of builders! By recommending a loss assessor to the landlord, they were able to quickly take care of the urgent aftermath and avoid having to pass it over to the landlord.

During the repairs, Mr Roberts decided he should take the opportunity to improve his property, and asked AIR for help. Between our team’s high standards of work, the quality of the material and Joanne’s interior design skills, we were able to transform the property and we’re extremely pleased to announce that it was quickly sold after the renovations!
